shifter linkage problem '92 w/ E4OD
search is disabled so hopefully someone can help me out, here. My wife went to leave her mom's lastnight and pulled truck into R and heard a loud snap in the cab and the column shift lever flopped around then. It is a '92 F150 w/ E4OD and 230,000 miles. her dad helped her get the bracket off the side of the tranny and rotate the stud to get it into R and then into forward for the 2 miles home. I looked at the cable and that seems to be ok yet, but the quadrant lever sits forward now and i can grab it and rotate it from p to OD but it stops hard there and the 'pull towards wheeel to shift' isnt working now. is there a pin or spring or something that could have popped in the linkage under the dash? i spose i will have to drop the column down to access any part on the linkage, huh? Can any of you guys give me any direction on what may have happened here????
thanks as always, you guys are always very helpful.

it was indeed the shift tube. got it out last, broke right in half. wasn't as bad a job as i thought it would be. nice and straight forward. just make sure you have a T-30 insert to get the bracket clamp bolts out with.
thansk guys. New one will go in tonight, $30 from Ford up here.
not bad at all.
thanks again.
