I don`t know what the retail is but that sounds like a good deal. It`s important to buy a major brand with a parts source. A freind of mine services welders and won`t touch any off brand as parts are hard or impossible to get.

I have the Hobart version of that machine, and I paid 500.00 for it. The Miller version, infinitely variable heat range rather than steps is the biggest difference, sells for ~ 100.00 more than the Hobart.
