tailgating question
First off thanks everyone for the wealth of information you provide on this sight!!!
I'll be tailgating this Saturday at the UCLA/USC football game, and unfortunatly not everyone that is going has a ticket to get in. I decided to bring along a TV and satillite dish. I was wondering if an inverter would run a 32" tv and sat receiver or would I have to purchase a generator? I know the generator would definatly work for the application however its very pricey.
If an inverter would do the job does anyone know the wattage I would need to purchase? How long before I can use it before having to call AAA for a jump?

lol...so IF....USC does make it to the national championship, your goin for ohio state...?? soorry for the off topic posts...i wish i was in your position...its going to be a blast...even if AAA has to jump you

1st off i think michigan deserves a shot over usc no matter what...they both beat notre dame but usc lost to an unranked oregon and michigan lost to #1 Ohio state...who cares if they beat ucla...which they wont...they still dont deserve a shot against ohio state...

The Sat recever will suck about 500 watts.
The TV will be you big problem, If it is an older unit the start up current can be as high as 2000 watts.

I'd use a generator. They're pricey, but Costco usually has some relatively small ones for a good price.
