Removing the CD player

The CD player in my 2002 Escape holds 6 CDs and has stopped working. It also won't give me back my CDs. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this sucker from the dash?

I've never taken that specific one out, but the Ford's I have u need a special ford radio tool. Looks like a long "U". Put it in the 2 holes on either side of the radio, and pry the ends of the tool outwards away from the radio slightly. Then Pull.....

I am familiar with the type of Ford radio you are thinking of as I have one of these in my Mustang. Unfortunately, the Tribute doesn't have the familiar 4 holes so I am stumped.

You have to take the center console trim panels off and remove the bolts that hold the radio in place... not a real difficult job.. just be careful so that you don't break the panels.

Good luck
