I meet a engine builder of the Hntsville Al, International plant. He told me they built powerstrokes there. At first was thinking the guy was blowing smoke up my tail pipe untell he told about some labels on the motor and this and that i went and looked on my truck yup things was where he said. By his accord my engine was built there. We talked alittle over a hour. What got me was how he said they quilty control these engines. Theres this lucky guy who gets paid to go and select 3 random engines and hook em up to a dyno and controls them tries to blowup the motor. He said they give'em hell. It was good to hear that more survive than dies.
This guy said he got a job with Durmax and left it cause they where too loose with their production and quilty control. Not saying they dont build good products, but they only test to the specs not beyond. Durmax has a percentage over spec on it's milling that it considers "good". Where as Powerstroke doesnt use a block or head that dont spec.
Is it all hogwash? It might be but the guy does work at the huntsville International plant. That much i know. He sure told me of alot of things i could find on my engine and they was there. It makes me feel a little better anyway. He's going to try to get me in to watch a engine to get built start to finish man i cant wait.
Yea come on. Mind you i've got to get there 1st but i'm goingto try to film some of it and get it hosted so yall can see. I'm dying to see the quilty control. lol. He was'nt real sure @ what rpm but they get 417 hp out of the motor. i'm pretty sure its on up there. I'm not sure if i believe that buttttt. I dont understand if the engine is able to make that kinda power why would they retard it if thats even the case. We dont know the rpm of that 417 hp chevy advertises their duramax @360hp @3000rpm, seems to me that international and ford would find a higher happy medium to compete with chevy.
