what is it?
when I'm under a load at about 60mph, I push the pedal slightly and i get a weird whooshing sound. If I floor it, power is strong, boost isnt bouncing around either its pretty steady at around 7-9llbs, if I turn off overdrive it is fine too, with overdrive on is when I get the noise (the best I can describe it is it sounds like the waste gate is going nuts or kind of like a kettle boiloing over) kinda of like something wanting to blow apart???? Any ideas or more info from me....thanks all
p.s. Im towing around 9k and it does it wether on flat land or grade(more so on a grade)

It's hard to describe over the internet and somewhat funny to say aloud to the computer screen, but does it sound like someone saying "chuffa chuffa chuffa" very fast, or i've heard it described as "what what what what" very rapidly. It's probably turbo surge, due to your programmer pushing the stock turbocharger compressor wheel past it's limit. Yes it can be harmful. You can either eliminate it compeltely for $400 with a newly designed compressor housing, or you can change out the wheel for $60 and help cure surge. You will be hard-pressed to make it surge with a wicked wheel and the tuner. Try xtremediesel.com for the wheel, and i think Dieselsite.com for the housing.

well I think you hit it on the head, thats what it sounds like, how hard are the WW to install or the housing, I'm somewhat handy and willing (or stupid enough to try snything once)... thanks
