Smile getting at speakers....

I want to replace me speakers but am afraid that i might break or crack panels to get to them. Any ideas how to do this without damage? 1998 F-150 single cab.

Not a hard job just take your time. Remember the door panels are lifted up and then away. If it fights you, you are pulling on it wrong.

I have a 1998 also. There is a little round plastic tab just under the door handle. Pry that off and then loosen bolt that holds door handle on. You don't have to completely remove the bolt, just enough so it is loosened from the door so you can then pull the handle and bolt away together. After that as Dan said, the door panel has tabs that require you to pull panel straight up(an inch at most?), and then away. I hung my panel to the window frame(kind of the same thing you do when you hang brake caliper when changing brake pads) to avoid having to unclip all the little electrical connectors for door and locks etc. Those stupid things are difficult(especially with my fat fingers) to unclip from the arm rest and I was afraid I was going to break a clip when I tried it first time.
