'53 Engine Replacement

I have just lost the 302 in my '53. It is connected to
a 3spd. trans (3 on the tree) Would like to keep my trans/
bell housing. What other/larger engine would bolt up?
351M?? 400??

If you want to move up and keep the same tranny then you can go to a 351W. You'll find the Windsor has better potential than the 351M. Plus the 351W should bolt right into the place of the 302, and most all the accessories will interchange.

A 351W or 351C will both bolt up. The 351W will use the same motor mounts as the 302 ( the exhaust might hook up as well ). The 351C will need different front mounts but will bolt up to the bellhousing. The 351M and 400M will not bolt to the bellhousing.

The mount locations should be the same for a 351c.
