Speed Control Accelerating.

My truck seemed to have a mind of its own this weekend. The speed control would slowly keep accelerating to 7-10 mph over where I set it. At that point I would be bearing down on the traffic ahead so I would hit the brakes or the off or coast button. All I can think of is the accelerate switch on the wheel being flakey. I switched it on and off several times and it always seemed to do it. Could the CC servo cause it to accelerate like this or does it only respond to electrical input from the steering wheel switches. Thanks for any tips on what could cause this.
