front end alinment

I have a 93 F150 2 wheel drv. ext cab

installed new roters, bearings, breaks, calapers and tires

the guy at Breakcheck (in Houston tx) who I selected to d othe alinment informed me that there is such a thing as "radial pull "

ok Like a dumb A$% I went and had the frnt tires replaced "they were under warentee - so it wasnt too bad "

the yalso had to install some adjustable toe end adjusters. Ford doesnt come factory with these

the truck still pulls to the left I called the guy today and he said ok bring it back in.

Guys, Yesterday they worked on the alinment for 4 hrs. YES 4 hrs

finley they moved the rear tires to the front and said it was ok. thats when he was talking about the radial pull.

anyway I'm in to this for about 500.00 now and I cant understand where or when it went wrong.

can anyone pls give advice

Well, if the camber is off then the alignment wont do a thing..
Dont know anything about radial pull....

If you didn't torque your locknut down in the hub, it might be loose... Unsure how tight for a 2x4. I did 38lbs for my 4x4..

Oh
Check your radius arm bushings and such.
If those arn't right, it will pull for sure.

I bought my 92 truck in TX back in TX in 2000 and one of the first things I did was to put new tires on it and they pulled to the right. I took it to some place in Old Boston, TX and he took me for a spin and when we ot back he switched tires from front to rear, didn't charge me a cent and end of problems. 46000 miles later I still have two of them still on the pick up.

Radial pull exists... but it's usually due to internal tire defects, not your truck. Putitng defective tires in the rear usually makes the problem go away because their is less weight on them by default (cab, engine on front tires, light empty bed on rear tires). Also since your rear doesn't provide steering, you won't have feedback in the steering column.

A pull to either side can be a lot of things. Bad alignment obviously... incorrect toe, incorrect caster, incorrect camber, slightly different diameter tires, bent tie rods, warn wheel bearings, rims not sitting on the hub perfectly flat allowing the camber to change with every revolution of the tire (and pulls towards that tire usually), dragging calipers, and so on.

Personally, I would go through everything with a fine tooth comb at this point. Swapping tires with the rear is *not* the correct way to fix this issue.

I took it back tonight and had an argument with the service manager..

at one point he said DUDE your dealing with Walmart. I informed him that walmart does NOT make tires BF Goodrich does,
He then GARENTEED me that if we swap tires we will see a diffrent pull on the truck...

So we did. moved the laef fromt to the rt. he tool it for a spin and when he cam back with out saying a word took it to the slinment bay and told the guy to recheck it..

I just had to (at this Point) say So lets talk about your garemtee...

Was there for 3 hrs tonight and it's a little better...

Gonna write the distric manager a letter

thanks everyone
