Rocker Arm Self locking screw

Rocker Arm Self locking screw
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Apr-02 AT 05:10 AM (EST)]One of the self locking adjusting screws on my rocker arm is loose on my 223. I am afraid it won't hold the adjustment after I set the valve lash. Any way to tighten this screw up? I was thinking to try to peen the threads with a drift after adjusting? I don't know if Locktite would work or not. Thanks.

Rocker Arm Self locking screw
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Apr-02 AT 00:07 AM (EST)]The tappet diameter is 0.4983 - 0.4989. Tappet to bore clearance is 0.0011 - 0.0021. The valve lash is 0.019 both intake and exhaust. All lash adjustments are made at TDC. This info comes from 1960 Ford Truck shop manual. As for the adjustment screw, tighten it til you feel resistance. If it takes less than 3 ft/lb to turn it further, replace the screw. If that don't get it replace the rocker arm, too. If you need more you can e-mail me and I will help out all I can.
