Oil Leak

My 03x has developed a small oil leak somewhere towards the back of the engine (76k mi). I'm getting a small drip that comes off the transmission housing. It seems that the leak is coming from around the rear of the exhaust manifold on the passenger's side. Has anyone had this problem before? Looks like it may be time to go to the shop. My concern, of course, is that my turbo back exhaust and intake may void the warranty. Any thoughts?

Moulin, you didn't say what type of engine you have. I have an 03 X with the 6.0L diesel. I had a small oil leak that came from the same area you described. The leak would leave about a 4-5 inch circle of oil on the driveway after I parked the truck. I took it to the deal and they changed the EGR sensor. Didn't fix it. I took it back and they changed another part ( can't remeber exactly what). Anyway that didn't fix it either. Took it back again and they changed the valve cover gasket. Finally the leak is gone. I had to fight with the deal over warranty and the leak, but everything worked out fine in the end. I have been told that the 6.0 had a "valley" on top of the engine and that many oil leaks will pool into this area and drip down the engine on the back, passenger side. I can't verify this, but this is what I have been told.
Hope some of this helps, I guess if you have any engine other than the 6.0 then this is a waste of your time. Happy oil leak hunting!

Well since his last sentance referred to his turbo back exhaust, I guess we can all assume he's got a PSD...but which one? 7.3 or 6.0?

Oil leak 03x with the 6.0L Diesel

Sorry....should have posted the engine type. It is the 6.0 and the leak is still there. It is not dripping a lot but still a little is too much. Thanks for the replies and the help. I spend a little more time under the X to see if i can get a better location. Thanks again!
