Extended Warrenty

I have a 2004 F150 XLT, SCrew, 5.4L ...... it currently has 35K miles and I am wondering whether I should get the extended warrenty. I have until the 36K to get the warrenty. My question is should I?

The maintenance I have had done to the car is .....
New rear brakes
New passenger-side upper control arm
New clutch-pack for my limited-slip differential

What do you all think? I am not sure of the cost, but I am really wondering about some of the major problems you all have experienced. Thanks in advance for your time.

NOrmally extended warrantys are not a good buy I got it for my 04 because it was a new model and I got an early build and I have had none of the problems you have so far but I am at only 25K, I had one pillar trim piece fall off they are just on with double sided sticky tape and my AC isn't very good and I don't think performance is much but ford saya all is good so I just drive it. In your case I think it would be a good deal sounds like you have had some major problems already and from you list would probably pay for extended warranty, but it is like buying life insurance who knows?????

If you are going to get a warranty, I would shop around and then get it from Ford directly. It will make things easier when it comes to warranty claims. I bought one for my '04 SCREW Lariat for the same reason as the previous post. I paid $1550 for a 48 month/100K $0 deductable plan.

I wounldn't really worry about it. My 04 has not had any problems at 66k. It all depends on how you drive and take care of the vehicle.

I got 7 years warranty (I think 52,000 miles) on my '05 F-150 and it was about $40 month for 48 months. I don't know if its good buy or not, but at least I don't have to worry. I know mileage is low, but since F-150 is my second vehicle I only put 3,000 miles a year.
