I was curious if anyone has had some experience with the interco/super swamper IROK tires. I currently have remington wide brutes (came on the truck when I bought it) that are HORRIBLE in the rain I cant take off from a light, stop sign etc w/o the tires spinning like crazy, the rear end slips and slides around corners and finally the other day I almost put the truck into a guard rail bc of this so it was time for new tires especially with the snow/ice starting soon. I purchased some 36 x 13.5 (actual is 36.8 x 13.5) interco/ super swamper IROKs after reading up on them a bit but was wondering if anyone here could give some input, and if anyone knew what a general price was for having tires installed & balanced. Thanks.
I run a set of 36"ers on my 95 F-150. Great tires all around. I used the truck in just about any situation you can think of from normal highway driving, to towing, to driving in the rain, pushing snow (yes, I run a plow on a 150 with 36" tires. not a problem!!), trail riding, and finally even mud bogging! They grip really well in all situations I've had the truck in. In the snow and rain is where the factory center tread siping comes in handy as the truck gets great grip on ice and wet roads. The scooped lugs help me pull the truck through deep snow and slick mud. Obviously they don't dig nearly as well as a set of boggers, but if you look at my gallery, the pics of me running with the 36's are the IROKS and I made 200' full pulls no problems!
ive got 42" irok's on a rock crawler (100% off road) and they are the best tire for the rocks.
no experience for street, but i do know others that have had them and they dont last for crap on the road. (these are bias not radials though). but as w/ any purpose built tire, great at one thing, not so good at the other (rocks/street).
I've had my bias plys on for about almost 2 years with around 25,000 mile of mixed use (on and off road). They are getting pretty slim on the tread, but don't look much different from when they were new. The only thing I notice is the siping in the center of the treads are not as deep. This truck will be my off road only truck now that I have my F350, so I will be switching to boggers full time.
