question about a c6 tranny
my buddy has a 351w with a c6 tranny in his full size bronco. he got his hands on a 460 that he is getting ready to drop in the place of the 351w. he wanted to know what can he use from the c6 on the 351w for the 460. we know the bell housing will not work, but is there more that wont work on a 460. thank you

The C6 is fine for the 460. It is stout as heck. But nothing will work except the tranny mount. I would go to a pick apart yard and pull a C6 that will bolt up. than buy an overhaul kit and use any of the hard parts out of yours that ya need. That 460 can tear up a high mileage C6 in no time flat.

save the 351W's C6 for the internal shifter bracket(atleast compare them) Only if you find a 78 or 79 351M/400 C6(same bolt pattern as a 460) that is. The 80's style C6 should be the same. I did the opposite...I put a 300 6 in my 79 bronco, and used an 83 small pattern C6. I had to pull off the tranny pan and filter and swap the shifter bracket from the 79's original C6. The shifter is 180* opposite between the decades.
