Sorry if this is an old thread, my search isn't working. If anyone knows why I can't search please let me know.
I found that I had some bad light bulbs in the dash of my truck. The engine light and ABS light. A scan tool told me that the O2 sensors were bad so I replaced all of them (3 correct?) and I still had an engine light on. Anyone know why?
The ABS light was the other lightbulb that didn't work. Anyone know how to diagnose that problem?
Ok so I read the announcments and now I know why I can't search.
I've narrowed down the engine light to the the egr 1 code - not sufficient flow and the O2 sensors 3 codes - heater circuit malfunction on each sensor.
From what I found on the internet I think my EVR is not working and I should replace it to fix the EGR flow. I already changed the EGR valve positioner and checked the hoses.
The O2 sensors still have me boggled. I'm thinking I have another issue since I replaced all three sensors today and al three are still have heater issues. Sounds like a separate electrical issue to me. Anyone have any suggestions?
Here in NY you had to haved the codes cleared to get the truck to pass it's annual inspection. Besides I'm a firm believer that if they put it on teh truck it must have some type of benefit. Driving around with a part emitting a code must be costing me gas milage, longevity or something else.
