Hey guys im new on here, first time posting. I have a 01 f250 4x4 sd and im having problems with what i think is the 4WD. I was driving down the road the other day and there is alot of construction going on where i live there was a bump on the road and shortly after i went over it the front end started vibirating so i pulled over and stopped and checked to see what happened and didnt see nothing. when i took off it was gone. so i went down to the local o/r shop and the told me it was my steering stabilizer and pitman arm so the replaced them. after a day or so it started doing it again. if i come to a complete stop and then take off it stops. today i pulled of my hubs and found out one of them were bad, and noticed that the vaccum line was off on the driver side and put it back on.
i drove the truck down the street without the hubs on to see if it quit and it didnt. selector in cab is on 2WD and the driveshaft is not turing when this happens. If you guys have any ideas please let me know need to get it fixed quick. THANKS
Welcome to the forum. I am sure someone will be along that might sehd somew light on that problem you are having. I've read some threads here that sounds similar. Might be that "death wobble" Good luck.
I'm not sure what size or type of tire you are running, but I had a lifted 02 SD with 35" BFG mud terrains that would go out of balance all the time and cause a wobble up front. I'd take it in and get the tires balanced and it smoothed right on out. SOmething to think about if it comes back. Good luck.
