E4OD selector hanging up, not seating
I have a '97 with the E4OD and it is not shifting into P or 1ST. R,N and D are rather loose but they seat with a little wiggling. The OD light is not flashing and the truck drives fine, the MLPS appears to be correctly lined up in N as well. I am hoping it is someting really loose in the column but am wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem. The selector will only just barely touch the P for park but not seat when I try to shift it in and won't even begin to engage 1st when I try it.

Look at the base of the columb at the bracket that holds the shift cable. It has two torx screws holding it in. They are often found loose or fallen out completely. Retorq or reinstall.
