Hi Everybody, Just getting back into Clevelands and I have a 71 Torino 351 4V I am redoing.. The pistons are flat top with small reliefs on the edge, I bought a set of Aussie heads (which are for a 302 actually) they make it sound like bolt on and go with pump gas..I don't think so. the chambers on these things are 57-58 cc so.. I see rebuild kits for the later 351's with dished pistons, I am thinking maybe thats the way to go?? Anyway should I chuck the idea and buy the new Edelbrock alum? Thanks for your experience Gordon.. Oh yes I do have the 4V for the 2V Edelbrock manifold, object being good streetable Ranchero with more powe than the currant 2V.

Why are you using Aussie heads, when you have 351C-4V closed chamber heads?
Are you replacing a 351C-2V in a Ranchero with a 351C-4V?
I guess I did not make my destination too clear, I have a good running 2V Cleveland in my Ranchero.I do not know whats inside so I decided to build another engine with a bit more efficiency. Having run a 4V back when...it is not the answer to todays more powerful and fuel efficient motors. Having said this I started with a 4V engine hoping for a 4 bolt main and detuning the rediculous powerband, the Aussie heads intent was to raise the compression and burnpattern to with a modern extreme energy cam a somewhat more powerful torque engine that is hooked to an AOD. As you can see by now that I am totally greedy wanting power and economy in one package. Anyway the flat tops in this engine are not compatible with the Aussie heads. And someone has put me in touch with a data base of 335 pistons for which I thank you. I knew I could find direction in a good forum and you folks came through. Gordon
