I've been really working hard on my 1960 Ford F-100, which used to be my great grandfather's, to get it ready for Hot August Nights. Somewhere along the way, the original hubcaps were removed. I would like to purchase a set of NOS, good reproduction, or excellent condition originals if I can find them. Does anyone know of or have any pictures of the correct style hubcaps my truck should have. Note, it is a 1960 F-100 with the custom cab and styleside bed. I have found a set of repros for $100 on this website's online store, but I am not sure if they are the correct ones. Any help, pictures, or verification would be appreciated.
There's a company called Robert Drake, has a nice catalog on quality repro hubcaps, wheels, etc. Actually, I picked it up at Hot August Nights last year. Check the web. They're in Oregon, I think.
I have a pic here of a set I just sold. I can send you the pic if you want to see what you need. I also have 3 F-100 hubcaps here and waiting on a 4th to get here. If you're interested in the pic or caps, e-mail me at CLUSSY38(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and put "57-60 hubcaps" in your subject line. I won't open any e-mails without a subject in the line. These are used caps, but are very presentable. Thanks, Barry
Are the hubcaps listed on this forum's online store correct for my truck? I have never seen what these hubcaps look like, so I am sort of lost on this subject and what my truck should have.
transam525,
I think your truck uses the same style hube cap as the 57-59's. The best pictures I could come up with are off Mike Swatek's page: http://www.swatek.com/truck.htm#1958
It's basically a flat, painted dog dish, with FORD in block letters across the center. As far as the stainless caps sold listed 48-60, I have no idea if those were actually optional for a '60, or they just look nice and fit. Everybody uses them, that's for sure.
Adios,
Brett
I found lots of sets on ebay. I think you will be able to find some goodies there for what you need. However, they most likely wont be new. C&G ford parts has a huge selection of NOS ford parts as well. Good luck!
Although I haven't found any of the hubcps on E-bay, I was lucky enough to find/win an NOS 58-60 gas cap to replace my scratched and dented original. There is a forum member who has a set of three and is working on the fourth, and I have been trying to get back in contact with him for some pictures and a possible sale. I'm just glad these are the only parts missing from the truck. So far, it seems finding specific parts for a 1960 F-100 is next to finding 1948 Tucker parts. Please let me know if you ever come across a set of NOS hub caps or happen to run across a nice set on E-bay or another forum.
