Have you looked on top of the motor? It is right in the middle and the big black cap is the filter cover. Use a 3/8" ratchet and extension to remove it the filter is under it!
It is under the plastic thing that says powerstroke. take that off and use the same filter wrench you use to take the oil filter off. Also you should drain it first there is a valve down on the left side of the water pump. Be sure to use a new o ring and fill the bowl with diesel kleen.
