i need 4wd help!!

hey guys i just put my new warn locking hubs on. the 4wd definatly engages and work but im not used to it because i never had 4wd in the truck due to broken hubs. it takes off really slow and when i turn the steering wheel like jerks and i cant really cut the wheel is that normal?????

Sounds like your outer u-joint are seized. They are the ones you can see between the top and bottom ball joints on each side.

As for taking off slow - are you in 4 hi or 4 lo?

i was in 4hi

i just took the truck to the local grass/leave dump to test it out
it was good turning i think i gotta grease up everything feels stiff

Sounds about right for 4wd, on the safe side just lock the axle in with it off the ground and turn the drive shaft by hand and see if the U-joints are loose, or you can do it without locking in the hubs as well. You should not be able to turn as far because the U-joints are designed for only a certain angle of movement in the shaft. I think 7* is the max after that it gets herky jerky as the u-joint binds a little while rotating the shaft at the extreme angle.
