I'm running a 01 F250 Lariat 4wd 6.8L extended cab with 46K miles
I pull a 8500lb Boat and Trailer. I had to replaced the tranny at 22k because it
went to pieces. Ford installed a new tranny, converter and cooler and all was
well until last month. I started to notice a low level noise coming from the
tranny area when just idling through the parking lot. I had the truck put up on a lift with the wheels spining and the noise is coming from the end of the transmission into the transfer case. Any ideas? I'm going to have them bullet proof the tranny so it won't break again. Since I'm beefing up the tranny I figured I'd go ahead and try to get some additional HP out of the motor while
I'm at it. What have you folks done to get additional HP out of your trucks. I've been looking at the Banks Power Pak with otomind. I would appreciate any info and experience from you folks that have already ventured down the performance upgrade path
