Quick Question...

I am thinking of buying a 96 bronco with the 351 engine, it has low miles(121,000) and the body it's OK. But, I noticed that when I stop it makes a cluncking noise in the rear and it also does it when I start moving. I am thinking it could be a bearing, but I would like someones input. The A/C also does not work, the clutch does not engage. But, I am more concern with the cluncking noise. I can purchase the bronco for $3500, wich I think it's a good price if the problema are nothing major.

Sorry if the question has been asked, but I am new to the site and it wont let me do a search.

Thanks,
JD

It could just be a u-joint or leaf spring bolts. But it could be more serious like pinion bearings.

Klunk, again

Slip joint if probably binding. The following fixed mine....Cut the ties from the slip joint boot. Mark the alignment of slip joint, front and rear flanges where the rear drive shaft attaches so you will not ruin the balance. Unbolt one of the flanges, pull the slip joint apart, clean and grease with chassis grease. If you can't get it apart just clean and grease the splines well. Use plastic cable ties to secure the boot again.
