Just acquired a "like new" 92 350-7.3-4X4-crewcab. Anyone have any experience with towing 5th wheels with this platform? What would you expect my towing capacity will be?--rmk123
I use to own a '93 F250 4x4 4.10 gears 5spd, with factory turbo. Great truck, my son is still driving it. Very dependable and easy to work on.
It pulled an 8600#TT beautifully. Made several trips with a 13K# 34'5th, it did OK. Not something I'd want to do full time.
If your running a stock '92 with out turbo, I'd limit my towing to under 10k#'s. Particularly if you you have the standard 3.73 gearing. Since you live in B.C. you'll find that without a turbo, you'll blow lots of smoke while loaded going up hill. (Owned a '90 7.3 non turbo prior to the '93). Don't look to maintain hwy speeds going up hill.
