axles?

this is probaly a stupid question cause its probaly easily found but how do i tell what front and rear axles i have...is there a code on them or something..?
i think i have dana 44s...and how can i tell what 4x4 tranny and transfer case that i have.

If your talking about your bronco, unless it's been swapped out by someone you should have a 9" rear, D44 frt, and a NP 205 tcase (unless it's full time 4x4 then np203)

you should be able to go by the shape of the pan for the front.all dana pans are shaped similarly,they just get bigger the bigger the axle.just look online for a picture of a dana 44.also there is a casting number on the casting,44f in the webbing somewhere.just have to scrub a little to see it.the rear should be a 9".there will be no pan on the back side of the rearend,everything comes out on the front side.like monster baby said,as long as they haven't been swapped out,should be a high pinion dana 44 in the front and a 9" in the rear.
