Yeah it should, and yeah dump the exhaust right after the muffler. I have dual 40 series on my 73 that are dumped and they sound great. If you want loud get the original 40 series tho and not the newer ones w/ delta flow those are quieter.

Is it possible to go from the headers to the cats into the 40 series muffler and then into dual pipes that exit in front of the tires? or would i be better off going with the whole 40 series system?
