Cleaning the Windshield

Since the Winter weather has moved in, it's been raining alot out in my neck of the woods. During the day I don't notice anything, but at night or when it's like 50F or less the window streaks...I guess thats the best way to describe it. It looks like the residue from a sticker that covers the entire windshield. Like I said, it's only noticeable when it's cold outside and/or raining.

I've tried cleaning it with: Rubbing Alcohol, Glass Cleaner, Ammonia, Vineager, and lots of elbow grease.

Anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem and after all the ways you tried, I picked up some Rain-X. Apply this, buff it off, and No more problems. Plus it is great in the rain. Good luck.

I used to use Rain-X on everything, but it kinda seems that once you apply it, you're stuck with it, and the subsequent applications don't seem to work/last as long. If you don't keep a fresh coat on every few days, the windshield wipers become pretty much useless, as they don't really "wipe" the water off, but just kinda move it around. It does help with removing the prehistoric 1-pound Florida "bugs", though. I'd be interested in others' experience with Rain-X. Right now, I don't think I'm gonna put it on my new Scab.
