Is there any gain to be had by replacing the stock muffler with a lower restriction muffler or should I go with a complete system. The truck is a 2000 F-350 PSD crew cab dually. The air intake system has already been replaced and I have a super chip program installed.
I have also considered replacing the exhaust from the connection at the bottom of the down pipe back with 4" but not the down pipe from the turbo. But I have heard that unless you replace from the turbo back with 4" it is a waste of time and money.
Bad info, best option is to replace the system from the turbo back with a 4 inch mandrel bent system. The muffler removal helps, but at best it's a stop gap to high EGT's!!! By the way you need to consider a set of gauges to monitor EGT's and boost, trans temp etc. Call us and we'll be glad to help you.
