gas gauge

the fuel gauge in my 1994 explorer quit workin a few weeks ago and i was wondering if any body knew what the problem could be?

Its probably the sender in the tank. You gotta drop the tank to replace it though. If you pull the gauge cluster you can meter out the fuel gauge wires and see what the resistance is to determine whether or not the sender is bad.
