The part # listed for the flathead v8 flywheel housing is 8rt 6366-a. For the flathead 6 it's 7ha 6392. I don't have both to do a side-by-side comparison, th epart # difference suggests they probably don't interchange.

Trannys will interchange, the bellhousings and most else is unique.
There are some gear ratio differences in "some" trannys, you need a Ford Bible to figure it out but in reality its not worth bothering about.

You can't interchange the bellhousings, otherwise they'd have the same part number. ( I'm a ex-Ford parts man) There is a slight difference in the gears between the 2 trannies, but not enough to worry about. When you rebuilt the trannies in the later part of the 1950's, you had to change everything inside other than the reverse idler gear. I just rebuilt mine for my 1950 F-1 and used the gears from a 1951 column shift unit. It dropped right in the case. I will have to change the speedo gear to obtain the right speedo reading.
