'56 vacuum wipers

I'm trying to figure out how to connect the wipers. It appears to have one large vacuum connection on one side and possibly a smaller one on the front. Am I correct in assuming this? Or am in left field?

'56 vacuum wipers

The larger one is where you hook up the vacuum source from the engine. The smaller one is the vent or "exhaust" port.
