Wheel Bearings

I was discussing having the 60,000 mile service done on my X with a neighbor and he said that he understood that Ford changed the front wheel bearing to a design that are sealed and can not be repacked. Have any of you heard this?

Ford Has Been Using A Sealed Hub/bearing Assembly Since 1999 On The F250, F350, Excursion 4x4

2 wd trucks have regular wheel bearings. only the 4wd have the sealed units.

What are the zerk fittings inside of my F250 4x4's front cv joint (right inside the front brake area) for?
Is this a routine service item?

The zerk fitting on the u-joint at the outer ends of the front axle are to lube the u-joint. Yes it is a normal routine maintenance item.
