Exclamation Power door lock problems

The power door locks on my 2000 F-350 Powerstroke Ford Truck will not lock or unlock. The power windows are also going slower and acting as if its hard to roll up or down. Normally I would search to find the info on this topic, but i can't seem to find a search engine for the thread. Hopefully this is in the right area also. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

martinfam5

Check the fuses, and if they are ok go ahead and pull one of the door panels and check for voltage at the actuator when you hit the lock button. These are little motors, and the voltage should change polarity when you lock or unlock.

If you find voltage there, then the actuator is bad. From what I have been seeing on the boards, this happens alot with Ford locks.

I just watch the *****.. if they move even a slight amount replace the actuators. I have had many super duty trucks with all 4 actuators gone bad. I dont know why the owners didnt notice it until they were all inoperative. Maybe the driver door was the last one to fail.
