I installed my Autometer Phantom guages on my '06, and was a little concerned that my boost may be a little high for being stock. I was running up a hill, WOT with no load, and was pulling 29 psi of boost. I mounted a compression fitting to my intercooler pipe about 6-8 inches from the turbo, so I hope that is in a good place (best place that I could see). I only have a 4" turbo back exhaust, until I get home tonight and install my SCT, and I'm a little concerned that the SCT may increase my boost pressure to unsafe levels. Does anybody have any experience with this?
I also noticed that the stock boost guage is way off from the Autometer. Is that the difference between mechanical, and electronic sensors?
you are reading turbo output, not boost. you loose boost through all the piping and the cooler. the best place is to tap into the system after the cooler to get more accurate readings.

Do you happen to have a pic of where you mounted yours, that is if you have an aftermarket guage. I saw a picture of someone elses install and I mounted mine in the same place. Thanks
Yeah...as mentioned above you can do either.... but I would recommend drilling and tapping your intake elbow... tapping into the MAP line will give you some boost flutter at higher psi's. Here is my setup with an Accufabracing Power Air Inlet (they come pre-drilled and tapped), but you would remove your stock elbow and drill a hole using 21/64" or Type R (.339") bit. Tap it with a 1/8 NPT tap.

I'm running a 4" turbo back with SCT on xtreme street and I'm seeing between 30 and 32psi and that's kick'n it in the ***. Mine's mounted were Bear's is. Been having too much fun on xtreme street to return it to stock to see what boost it running!!
