My question is, what is the plastic canister on the driver's side bed wall, right behind the driver's seat? It's behind a panel and has 4 lines going to it. I assume it is some type of fuel vapor recovery. What problems would I have if I remove it and cap the lines?
It is part of the evaporative emissions system which controls vented fuel vapors from the fuel tanks. It can be removed and the system capped but you will need a fuel cap from a 69 or older that is vented.
