Electronic OD

I have a '92 F-250 7.3 4x4 ext. cab 33x12.5x16.5 tires

I just noticed today that I cannot turn off the Electronic Overdrive. or at least the light on the shifter does not go on when I push the button.

Have not had the chance to play with it to verify if I am shifting into OD or not.

When the speedo reads 60mph the Tach reads approx. 2000rpm
Is this the right ratio for OD. I have no idea what the gear ratio is in the rearend.

Is it common for the electronic overdrives to go out on these trucks? Or is it probably the just the indicator light?

If you are doing turning 2000 rpm at 60 mph your OD has to be engaged, your rear end is most likely a 4:10.

Your OD button made not be working. My dad already had to replace his buttom once on his 92 F250.

Seb...

An E4OD in overdrive with 235/85-16 tires would run 63 MPH with 4.10 gears.
If the speedo was not recalibrated, that is what it would indicate even though you are actually going 67 MPH.

You may need to find a measured mile and drive 60 MPH and see how many seconds it takes to complete the mile.

1800 RPM should be close to 60 MPH.
