I have no heat in the front of my van. The back blowers work fine but i have nothing coming from the front blowers. Someone had suggested replacing the blower motor. Any ideas?
Check fuses first and replace even if it seems OK. Is the front blower blowing at all? It might be worthwhile to put 12V directly on the blower to see if it's still in working condition before you replace it, just in case the problem is in the wiring leading to it.
The front blower isnt blowing at all, while the back blower blows at all speeds. Checked the fuse and thats not the problem. Thank you for your quick reply
Now, try to get to the blower and measure the voltage going into the blower. It should be near 12V. If you have that and the blower is not on, chances are the blower is broken.
I tested with a 12 volt tester and had power. I've replaced the blower motor and now the blower motor is working. The new problem is, when the blower is turned on i can hear it blow at all the different speeds but nothing is coming out of the vents. The blower is on and blowing, just not out of the vents. Any Ideas?
I reiterate Khanty's comment about a vacuum problem. If a vacuum line comes off, which is common, all air is directed to defrost. check this. If the blower is running, air is going somewhere.
Vacuum Control Motors
Vacuum control motors (18A318) are used to operate three damper doors: the outside/recirculating air door, the panel/defrost door and the floor/defrost door. Each of these vacuum control motors responds, in turn, to a function selector switch which is a component of the A/C control (19980). The diagram illustrates the vacuum circuits and the damper door position under V vacuum, PV partial vacuum, and NV no vacuum condition. The chart, which is part of the illustration, relates each function **** position to the status of vacuum application at each door.
