Would a bad GPR cause my 2000 psd to not start and NOT display "Wait to start light"? This morning I tried starting my truck. The "wait" light came on ,after extinguishing I started the truck. It ran for a couple of seconds then died. Afterwards The "Wait" Light would NOT come on and the truck just cranked but wouldnt start? Any suggestions? I would search but the function is broke? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Now for your problem. I believe your fuse #30 is probably blown. It protects the PCM, as well as the fuel bowl heating element. The fuel bowl heater will short circuit, causing the fuse to blow, and hence the no start AND no WTS light (which is an easy way to tell it is likely the PCM and likely the fuse, as opposed to a CPS issue).
Give that #30 fuse a look, and if it is blown, replace it and be sure to unplug or fix the fuel bowl heater before restarting, or you'll blow the new fuse, too.
Ryan, Thanks for the info. Replaced the blown #30 mfuse unplugged the bowl heater and it fired right up. Can I drive the truck without the heater? until I receive my new one? Does Napa carry such an item? Thanks again. I think it shorted after my drain valve "O" rings failed and started leaking. This aounds very familiar. New fuel? Thanks again
I do think that all the o-ring failures we're seeing must be from the ULSD, but who knows.
I'm not sure if not having the heater element working will be a big deal or not. I don't even know when it activates. I guess if you live in an area where it gets cold enough for the fuel to gel, they'll have it blended appropriately already so that it won't gel. Sorry I can't help more with the heater info...
Anyone else know how important the fuel bowl heater is? can I drive my truck until replacing the thermostat relay or element? I live in Seattle. Pretty mild climate. Thanks
I need to spread the Rep around before I can give you more, it says, but great link, Betthebux. I think you posted it in both current threads on this topic. Good find.
