I was wondering the story on some Bronco IIs having a vent window and most not having one Was this an option? I see some plain janes with and some nice EB packaged II's without. I'm just curious.
Also while I'm thinking about it. Did any IIs have a rear window that could open by itself and not opening the whole lift gate?
I have an '84 xlt with wing windows and rear glass that opens independant from the rear gate. My Dad bought it used in 1984 w/ 7000 miles. In the truck was the original 1984 ford literature for the BII....it showed removable rear side windows as a factory option. Ford did away with it though due to leak problem. Man, that would have been sweet.
One option that should have been on the BII - a V8! But I took care of that one!
My understanding is that they did away with them before the Bronco II went into production in '84. The literature has them as an option, but ford couldn't get them to stop leaking. Not sure if any were sold.
Interesting. I tought I was crazy on the rear window. I saw a glimps of one in a picture of another vehical on Ebay and it looked like it had it. I never noticed one ever in person. I never have thought it existed. As far as the vent windows I notice them more and more. Funny how I never noticed them back in high school when I had a Bronco II. Mine didn't have them. I don't know about preproduction removable side windows, but something that slid open would've been nice in the production model. I'll have to keep an eye open for an opt'd Bronco II. They're a fun little capable suv for the dogs and I to wonder in.
