91 Explorer window motor.... help...
Hello* I know this is a very simple thing I am doing but I still need some help if you please**I have a 91 Explorer Eddie Bauer and my window behind the drivers side will not do anything anymore so I want to change out the motor- only problem I cant get the door apart- I took two black screws out of the door handle- which loosens it up a bunch but I'm just afraid that if I keep pulling I might rip something. Anybody know of any other screws??Or should I just go for it and pull??

If the back is the same as the front, you'll only be able to see two of the three bolts that hold the motor in. Look carefully at the door, and you'll see a dimple in the sheet metal where the third bolt goes. Just drill a hole for access to the third bolt. I changed the motor in one of my front doors, and the whole thing took about 15 minutes. A very simple fix. Added bonus was that I got the 'new' motor on ebay for $5! The problem with my window was sporadic. I put a voltmeter on it, and the motor was only dropping 9 of the 12 volts that were feeding it, so there was a short in the windings. Good luck!
