Out door Surface Mount Part # 7185K15 Cost $50.40
This one will be great to mount out side.
Digital 7 day Programmable wall plug in Part# 7001K28 Cost $24.38
This one you would have to plug indoors but you can program it for every day of the week. Making it nice for different weekend times
They are rated at 15 amps, the heater on our 6.0L trucks use 8.8 amps so it is more then enough for the heater. (I used an amp clamp to find out what the heater draws).
I purchased the digital timer and I set my timer to come on at 3:30 am and shut off at 7:00 am on weekdays, I leave for work at 6:00 am. On the weekend I set it to come on at 7:00 am and turn off at 5:00 pm. I never know when I will be using my truck on the weekends so this way it is ready to go for most of the day.
2.5 hours seam to be enough time to warm the truck up so it’s read to go in the morning. But I may need to add more time when it gets really cold out side, but right now its working great.
I know you do not need to plug your truck in unless it’s really cold out side. But my truck runs better when plugged in and it sure is nice to have hot air after only ½ mile down the road by plugging it in.
I just thought I would pass on the information, in case anyone else is interested.<O

I do not need 7-day programable timer... just one that turns on at 3:00am and that I un-plug at 7:00am when I leave.
The block heater pulls around 1,200 watts or so and I use an "intermatic" brand timer I got at my local farm supply store for $20.00.
