I'm figuring out how to wire up fog and driving lights on my '99, and I found a pair of wires that end in a female connector attached behind the grill support that come out of the headlight harness that runs over the rad area. My XLT does not have the factory fogs, but I'm wondering if these wires are part of that circuit. There is no relay in the power box under the hood in the foglights slot. Tomorrow I'll try my meter on the connector and see if there is power there, but if it is in fact for the fogs I doubt it will have any. Anybody else know what these might be?
If I remeber correctly they are for the factory fog lights. I added the factory lights on my 98 and the kit come with all the parts needed to add the lights including the new headlight switch.
That's interesting. Was that an option? I did not see it in the wiring diagram I have. Or maybe you're pulling my leg now that I think about it. That'd be a trick, run a block heater off the vehicles own battery. I can see it now"
"hmm..the engine's nice and warm but the battery's dead."
Naw. Sheesh, having lived in Maine all my life I do know what a block heater plug looks like. This is a factory two wire plug, and the fact that it is female would indicate it is a power source.
The last car I had that I put a block heater in was a '69 Chevelle ragtop that was my sole ride when I was 23. Drove it rain or shine in summer heat and winter cold. Sold it for $500 to help finance our honeymoon. But I digress.
