Use a good Duraspark-II system in good order with a Motorcraft module, -works great. The system has start retard which is necessary with many engines (especially high performance or large displacement) for hot starting. Even a "properly set up distributor" will not perform that function. Mount the module with 1/4" spacers on the fender to allow cooling air under the module.
