i have a 1994 F150 with 5.0 auto trans extneded cab. i bought the jegs powertone cat back eahaust for my truck. i like the deep tone, but i want it to be louder, im goin to leave both my cats on to they are stock,
the kit came with the resonator tips ive herd to take them git em real hot and shot water up them to git a louder sound but im not sure bout that Any help would be great
with your cats still on you could have just run straight pipes. Screwing with the tips wont make much difference in decible levels. Loose the cats, or loose the mufflers.
I've got straight pipes after the cat and a set of Gibson headers on my 92 5.8L f-150. It's not very loud at all. Taking of the catalytic converter would help lots.
Dont take the cats off. Buy a k&n dual outlet cone air filter. It makes a huge difference in sound and only costs about 55 bucks and goes right on the end of the stock intake tubes.
