yeah i have one and i love it....the LED is really bright at night and makes a great light ffor the back of the bed...im not sure what kinda light the stock one let off because i never noticed it but i got mine from recon alond with mirror turn signals and roof lights...the two you are looking at seem the same to me but just look into the one that is 37 cheaper...if i were you i would just get it direct form recon and same the trouble because if anyhing is wrong they are awesome to deal with... i was originally just going to get the roof lights turn signals and tailgate bar and he convinced me to get the 3rd brake light and said if i wasnt happy with it just to call and they would refund me and money and let me keep the light...just buy it direct and dont deal with the hassle of something going wrong and not being covered all ecause of 40 bucks...just my .02

you just convinced me...lol
does th elight just plug right in? and how hard was the mirror lights to replace?
the 3rd brake light just plugs right in...but i put some silicone around it to be safe...and the turn signals took the longest and i actually rigged it up on the inside so that they are really tight and so there is no wind noise. they are held in by 3 butterfly clips that you have to reach back behind the mirror with a long skinny flat head screw driver and release them...and from there its really simple...keep me posted...good luck

they are both a whole lot brighter...you will notice more of a difference in the 3rd brake light only because the light is much larger....you wont be dissapointed in either one!!! get some pics when you get em
Anyone have a red truck with the roof lights by recon? I'm curious as to what the clear and smoked look like on the bright red (see my gallery for color sample) Any help is appreciated
the guy at recon recommended that smoke lenses only be put on black or grey trucks and maybe some other dark colors....he said the smoked dont look right on light and brighter colors...because they look like 5 black dots on the top of the truck because it doesnt blend with the lighter colors...he said since the base of the roof lights are black it helps blend together with the clear lights...i asked him what the hell he was talking about and he just said trust me i do these truck everyday and he sees it all...so i took his word for it and i think clear would look best on your color truck
