My 93 F150 supercab has a bit of looseness at the lower shock mount (on the left front). What's your experience, should I change just the mount, or the bolt that holds the shock as well?
I know that when I replaced my shocks I reused my bolts. Afterwards, I had a noise from the front end. It turned out to be the lower bolts that mount the shocks. The diameter was a little worn and sloppy on the new shocks. I replaced them, and all was well again.
I have bought trucks with as little as 70000 miles that showed serious wear on bolt . 1 truck had 130000 miles bolt was worn half thickness. I now replace the bolts everytime I swap shocks. Good luck _
