Well, just got back from a run to Spokane to attend a friend's wedding. While I was over there I scored a good deal on some parts
IP, injectors, GPs, and GP controller with 7k miles on them - been sitting (on the truck) unused for 3 years. IP and injectors still full of clean fuel. Spare intake hose (for my dual ram-air), upper radiator hose, and alternator.
Whole shootin' match for $250 - all parts came from my buddy's truck that he rebuilt, drove for 7k miles, and then lost the oil cooler on the highway and threw a rod.
Also got my pyrometer in the mail yesterday. Darned good thing there's a 4-day weekend coming up. I've got a lot of mods and work to do.....
Yeah, it hasn't rained hard today. Just lightly off and on.
This morning my controller decided not to work at all anymore. Lately when it is cold the controller has been short-cycling about half the time. Sarted out that about half the time it would work like it was supposed to, the other half of the time it would short-cycle. Turn the key and it would come on for about 1-2 seconds and then go off. Doing that 3 or 4 times would heat the GPs enough to get it to fire off. Most recently it has only even been short-cycling about half the time - the other half it doesn't even come on.
So, I spent about 20 minutes during one of the dry spells today changing it out. New one I got from my buddy seems to work perfectly. Prolly won't be swapping the IP & injectors right away, though. Want to do a few mods first.
