I had a problem with oil in the coolant. Head gasket leaks appear to have been the problem. Now I'm trying to get all the oil out of the coolant system. I flushed the coolant system several times with cleaners, but I'm still seeing oil seeping thru the heater hoses.
There is no water getting into the oil, so I'm thinking I have oil residue in the coolant system.
I took the short block apart and had hollow pushrods fitted to the oil passages in the block that feed the cylinder heads. I'm wondering if the oil passages in one of the cylinder heads is leaking, maybe take the heads apart and have their cooling systems pressure checked.
My next step should be to remove the radiator and heater core, have them hot tanked and flushed, flush the block, then install all new hoses.
What are your suggestions for eliminating the oil residue from the coolant system??
That will work. When the stuff you drain doesn't have oil in it you can stop. Flush a couple of times with straight water and when the soap is gone, fill with water and antifreeze.
