Those of you with aftermarket boost gauges what is your boost at idle and normal driving? Not sure if I may have a kinked tube (pretty sure I don't) or may have leak (75% sure I don't). At Idle with Eric's xtreme street tune I'm making 1-2lbs just off the needle, at about 75% throttle underload I saw 24lbs. is this correct or is gauge off. Autometer Ultralite gauges.
I don't show any boost at idle...but I don't run a tuner either. Normal max boost for a stock (empty) 6.0 is 25-27. Not sure what max boost would be with the SCT but I would imagine its somewhere around 34...but I could be wrong.
Altitude, Temperature, grade of the road (load)...all play a factor...so its kind of hard to estimate what it would be at 75% throttle.

I never show anything at idle.......not sure about 75% throttle........usually I peak about 28-30 and it falls off to about 26 after that. Autometer gauges also........where did you tap in for the gauge?

I tapped the boost gauge into the inlet elbow like discussed on other thread, I put soap on the fitting to check for leaks and no bubbles, also when I removed the elbow in the intake by the egr was alot of oily dirty looked like sludge almost, is this normal for a truck with 73k miles? Doesn't look right to me.
All the sludge is "normal" because the crankcase ventilation hose is plumbed into your intake from the drivers side valve cover. There is a delete mod for this. GRRRRR--I wish the tech folder was back up. Do a search for CCV delete and you might be able to find the modification. My truck was pretty gunked up when I did it at 71K and it's taken the past 3K miles to get the intake system cleaned up.

That's good to know, thanks. Took truck out and ran it for about 50 miles on xtreme street, never full throttled it but did launch it pretty good a couple of times, trans temp never got over 150, egt's jumped to 1100dg on hard acceleration stay at 400-500 around town and about 650 at 65 mph. Boost is min. around town about 7lbs at 65 and I did see it jump to 30lbs on hard accel. Don't smell coolant anymore either.>-)

Found it! I will be glad when the tech folder is back
